Founded in 1978, Château d’Ivoire is a prestigious family-owned jewelry store located on De la Montagne Street in Montreal. Renowned for its unparalleled expertise in luxury watch distribution and high-end jewelry from world-class brands, Château d’Ivoire also excels in crafting bespoke pieces. Its custom creations include engagement rings designed and meticulously handcrafted in Montreal, reflecting exceptional artistry and attention to detail.

Our challenge: modernize brand image and user experience

Although Château d’Ivoire is a well-established institution in Montreal’s luxury jewelry scene, its website no longer reflected the sophistication of the in-store experience. The digital presence lacked alignment with the brand’s refreshed identity and fell short of meeting the high expectations of its discerning clientele.

The primary objective was to showcase the full breadth of Château d’Ivoire’s offerings—especially by enhancing the visibility of its bespoke engagement rings and curated selection of branded jewelry. At the same time, it was essential to preserve and reinforce the company’s leadership in the luxury watch market, a domain in which it already enjoys a distinguished reputation.

1. Creating a website with Hydrogen and Sanity

The use of Shopify Hydrogen and Sanity for content and product management enables Château d'Ivoire to manage its various sales channels autonomously, with maximum flexibility. The administration panel allows the creation of a varied set of pages, from product sheets to blog posts. A collection of flexible blocks was developed to simplify the creation of content on the site, while respecting the design system in place.

We used Remix to develop this website. This modern framework is designed to deliver exceptional performance and optimize SEO through server side page generation. This choice will also facilitate the long-term evolution of the website.

Migrating over 4,000 products from the previous site to Shopify was a meticulous and strategic undertaking, focused on harmonizing product specifications across the entire catalog. This standardization made it possible to implement a robust and refined filtering system, allowing users to search with greater precision and efficiency.

As a result, navigation and the overall shopping experience were significantly enhanced, with products now automatically grouped by variations and shared characteristics—making discovery more intuitive and seamless.

To meet the strict requirements imposed by Rolex for its authorized retailers, we developed a dedicated sub-site fully aligned with the brand’s graphic and technical guidelines. This section integrates seamlessly with the main website while preserving the distinctive visual identity of the iconic Swiss watchmaker.

Thanks to the integration of Sanity, Château d’Ivoire’s team can easily manage the content of this sub-site while ensuring ongoing compliance with Rolex’s standards—maintaining both editorial flexibility and visual consistency.
