How we designed and developed a complete gift card program for FlexyB Solutions, an innovative player in the digital gift card space that had already built a full ecosystem around an in‑store touchscreen kiosk network and a dedicated mobile app.
Our mission: to make gift card management and sales accessible to everyone, through a suite of modular, powerful tools — including flexible code generation, a web point of sales and Android terminal integration, a secure admin portal, online balance checking, and more. A project where security, user experience, and adaptability come together to meet the needs of merchants of all sizes.

FlexyB Solutions is an innovative company offering a complete ecosystem for digital gift cards: a network of in-store touch-screen kiosks where customers can purchase cards, a mobile app to easily access them, and a centralized system for managing and activating codes compatible with existing point-of-sale terminals. Their goal: to modernize and simplify the gift card experience for both retailers and consumers.
The need: making gift cards accessible and flexible
Many merchants still do not have a gift card program. Some use solutions that are incompatible with the FlexyB Solutions network, including those who still manage their clients' gift card balances with a paper register! To democratize access to digital and physical gift cards, it was necessary to create a centralized and flexible system, capable of integrating with FlexyB’s interactive kiosks, merchant websites, and physical points of sale, while remaining simple to deploy and use.
The challenge: combining features and compatibility
Our goal was to design a robust, scalable system capable of managing gift card codes and balances for a wide range of needs, while remaining compatible with existing systems. The platform also had to allow the import of manually created codes or codes generated through other gift card programs. We combined the best features on the market into a single, intuitive solution that perfectly suited real-world operations.
A feature-rich and seamlessly integrated solution
Flexible card formats
Each merchant can create and manage their own batches of gift cards based on their needs: variable amounts, specific code formats, digital or physical versions, refunds, and more. The system is designed to adapt to different business models and promotional programs.
Web and Android point of sales
A web-based point-of-sale solution accessible from any browser, complemented by an optimized version for Clover and Moneris terminals, as well as various Android tablets. Employees can reload or activate gift cards directly in-store, without the need for extra hardware.
Online purchase integrated into the merchant’s website
Merchants can sell their gift card directly on their website. The customizable module integrates easily, ensuring a seamless experience consistent with their brand identity.
A comprehensive administration portal
Suppliers have access to an intuitive dashboard to track balances, manage card batches, and review detailed statistics. From this portal, they can also view the full transaction history and perform various real-time operations on the cards, ensuring complete and centralized control.
Branded page to check balance
Customers can check the balance of their gift cards online through a fully customizable module tailored to the merchant’s brand identity. A turnkey solution that delivers a consistent and professional experience.
Order custom physical gift cards
With an integrated graphic editor, merchants can design and order personalized physical gift cards without leaving the platform. Once the design is finalized, it’s automatically sent to the printer along with the generated codes, resulting in ready-to-use cards that can be immediately activated and sold in store.
Integration with the FlexyB Solutions ecosystem
With the gift card program, merchants can showcase their products on the FlexyB network of in-store kiosks, while users can check their balance and view transaction history directly within the mobile app.
Advanced roles and permissions management
The system lets merchants assign specific roles to managers and employees, each with tailored permissions and limits (e.g., maximum reload amount, password protection, etc.). This makes it easy to manage large retail chains or single stores while maintaining strict, secure control.
Future outlook
The project now aims to expand system compatibility to new types of terminals, particularly in the restaurant sector, in order to offer an even more flexible solution that’s accessible to all kinds of businesses.
